How the seasons have changed..

Oklahoma is a very interesting place to live at times, mostly due to the weather, because as I write on a Friday when it looks wonderful outside, the breeze coming in from the back door making the office very airy and pleasant, on Monday when I was getting in my car at 7am, it was a wonderful 32 degrees outside, cold and fairly gusty. It gives you consideration to all the other things in life that change. A quote by C.S. Lewis comes to mind; "Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different." Perhaps it comes with the new year, each year, as individuals we re asset ourselves; make vows, work out more, eat better, spend more time with family, and as January continues on, we have stepped in the gym twice, we ate a salad for lunch yesterday before going home and ordering pizza, and we have played with the children more. As I sit back and asset myself and the same new year resolutions, I realize I haven't made any progress or even made an attempt to start, I could use a thousand excuses, busy at work, trying to fit in as much time with my family, working on a new puppy, etc. The fact remains I feel incredibly unsatisfied with my life state, so I shall try now, I want to say try harder but I haven't even attempted, so I shall try, try to do at least three workouts a week and attempt to stop eating McDonald's every other day just because it's convenient.
On a more pleasant note, my son has discovered that the word "no" is his best friend, his love for the movie "Home" precedes all else. We have watched it at least a hundred times, I'm sure we will watch it another hundred before the year is over. He will come up, grab my face, smile and state; "Watch Boov?" He doesn't actually ask the question because he is sure of the answer. He will systematically proceed to hand me the remote, crawl up the couch, get the covers together and beam at me with the big grin; "We watch Boov mum!" and I smile, sit down, wrap my arms around him, be amazed and how big he is getting and his surprising word selection at times, and we will watch Boov.
